The Lawrence Regional Technology Center (LRTC) is a not-for-profit small business incubator that offers valuable resources and services to support the formation and growth of high-technology start-up companies in Lawrence and the surrounding communities (e.g. Topeka, Eudora, Baldwin City and Atchison, et al.). Our mission is to provide business development assistance to early-stage businesses that have spun off from the University of Kansas, as well as to local entrepreneurs who would like to create their own high-technology firms. LRTC works with all types of technology-based companies, with a particular focus on life sciences, information technology, communications and software. LRTC, originally named Kansas Innovation Corporation, was established
in 1994 through a partnership between the Kansas Technology
Enterprise Corporation (KTEC), the University of Kansas and
the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, all of which continue to work
closely together to support LRTC’s mission. The Higuchi
Biosciences Center and the Information and Telecommunication
Technology Center also partner with LRTC to help identify leading
edge technologies developed at the University of Kansas that
have excellent commercialization potential. LRTC is one of five
KTEC Innovation and Commercialization Centers located throughout
the State of Kansas. |
