Dr. Bland is a molecular and cell biologist with experience in the biotechnology industry, particular in leading-edge drug discovery. Founded in 2001, Proteon Therapeutics is a Kansas City-based company developing novel, first-in-class human therapeutics that address critical cardiovascular medical needs. Also during Dr. Bland's employment at Vitra Bioscience, the company doubled in size and successfully executed its first product launch. Dr. Bland graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a PhD in Molecular & Cell Biology and also attended the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Genetics.
